New Year’s update

Happy New Year…

Happy… new… year…

So as we bring in the new year, I want to look back at 2019 and thank everyone who has been so supportive. To those who do not know, this had been a rough year. Had my first surgery that was minor in May, and I thought it would be my last for awhile… then I go into the hospital in August to wake up a week later in September, having been cut open and told I’ll never have 100% lung capacity ever again.

That scare… it has made me evaluate many things in my life and while I haven’t given up on my writing, it has made me deprioritize. I’ve focused this last year to spend more time with my family, church, and working on getting healthy. I’m still have a number of writing projects in the works, but progress is slow and I have only vague ETA’s on when they’ll be done.

My main focus right now is Dead Friends. I’m near done with the rough draft. I do feel there will be some rewrites that my experience this last year will help shape into some new terrifying goodness, so that may delay the release. My goal is to have this out by August of 2020.

I also have had Warm Nights done for awhile, the third chapter in my Space Trucker series. It just needs to be edited… I’m just not happy with the story and my beta readers have also had issues. It needs … something … I have some ideas that I’m still toying with. I hope to have this out by March and the audiobook shortly thereafter.

I also have Here Be Dragons done. The last round of edits just need to be reviewed and this will be ready to be released. Still need to approve the final cover as well. I hope to have this released by June…

Another development is that I am no longer being published through Breaking Fate Publishing. We have parted ways, and I have kept ownership of the rights for all my work, so they will continue to be available. I am looking for a new home for my work, and when Dead Friends is finished I may try to find a new publisher or self publish. The decision has yet to be made.

That’s all the bad news. This has actually been an amazing year. I am now married to an amazing woman whom I love so much. My day job is going well, and we’re happy. Life is good, I feel like there is more I wanted to add on this front, but I don’t normally stay up this late and forgot what it was.

So that is my look back and a look forward. I hope everyone is well and may you have an amazing new year.
